Tragedies Happen

Why do people cyber bully? I feel they do this because they are too afraid to actually face the person they are bullying. I think they do not want to see the hurt on the faces and in the voices of their predators although some people enjoy this. Their motives may also be to fit in with other people who are doing this so it does not happen to them too for being “too scared” to mess with someone else.

I feel people would be more inclined to stand up for themselves or other if it is online. I feel this because they do not feel the pressure of being able to get hurt like they would if they were face to face with that person. Internet offers a certain layer of confidence that is given to most people whereas they would be too afraid to say anything otherwise. Internet is like a mask at a ball or costumes, giving them something to hide behind in case their individual plans are not successful. Internet I feel can be used to help people add confidence to their selves.

Me personally if I saw this happening to someone I would most definitely stand up for that person. I have two reasons for this. One reason is bullying is just plain wrong. It involves being judgmental, discriminating, and getting your feelings hurt. The second reason is because I have been bullied every year since the fourth grade while people just stood there and did nothing. That will not be me. I will stand up for what I believe in so that person no longer has to continue to go through what I went through. I feel all forms of bullying are wrong whether it be in person or on the web because we are all humans and have our faults but we should be strong together as one. I hope that some day soon this happens and we can see all people getting along with one another.
